The current Takeda portfolio comprises of therapies for endometriosis, prostate cancer and bone cancer, two oral diabetes medicines, and angiotensin receptor blockers. Leuprorelin acetate (Prostap® SR and Prostap®3) is a type of hormonal therapy licensed for prostate cancer. It is also used to manage endometriosis (a condition in which the tissue normally lining the womb grows elsewhere in the body) and uterine fibroids. ^1,2

Mifamurtide (Mepact®) is used to treat osteosarcoma in children, adolescents and young adults. After surgery to remove the tumour, it is used with chemotherapy to kill the remaining cancer cells to reduce the risk of cancer returning.³

Candesartan cilexetil (Blopress®) is prescribed to treat hypertension or heart failure (2 mg, 4 mg, 8 mg, 16 mg, 32 mg tablets).⁴ Candesartan cilexitil / hydrochlorthiazide (Blopress Plus®) is a fixed dose combination indicated for the treatment of hypertension (8mg/12.5mg, 16mg/12.5mg, 32mg/ 12.5mg and 32mg/25mg tablets).⁵

Pioglitazone hydrochloride (Actos®) is used for the treatment of insufficient glycaemic control in Type 2 diabetes (15 mg / 30 mg / 45 mg tablets).⁶

Pioglitazone HCl/metformin HCl (Competact®) is prescribed for Type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, who cannot achieve sufficient glycaemic control at their highest tolerated dose of oral metformin alone (15 mg / 850 mg tablets).⁷
